Client: WIKPOL sp. z o. o.
Year: 2019
AMR is a special vehicle that enables the transportation of cargo over short distances without human intervention. Thanks to a system of laser sensors, cameras and advanced software, mobile robots are able to process information about the environment and autonomously choose the optimal route.
The result is a unique and durable design that incorporates all the necessary sensors and allows for convenient repair and modification of internal components. The casing has thoughtfully considered safety issues important to end users. It can also be easily scaled vertically to match the client’s requirements.
[1.0] Concept Exploration
Info
During the ideation phase, a variety of styling options were explored by our design team. Even the very early sketches were already based on the client’s components and engineering assumptions. ... [2.0] Concepts Variants
Info
As we refined our designs, a key part of our process involved deciding on the robot's character—should it embody a neutral, utilitarian character or adopt a more personified, engaging persona? This crucial decision shapes our approach to aesthetics and functionality, guiding us in creating an AMR that not only meets technical standards but also resonates emotionally with users.
[3.0] Project Development
Info
In the advanced stages of our process, we proposed modularity that allows for two different loading directions and the possibility of adding height. Thus ensuring AMR excels in efficiency and environmental adaptability.
[4.0] Detailed CAD Modelling
Info
During the CAD development phase, our team modeled surfaces of the AMR, focusing on refining its structure, ergonomics, and details. This process was conducted in close collaboration with the Wikpol engineering Team This precision in design not only amplifies the robot's aesthetics but also ensures its innovative features are practical for real-world applications and manufacturing.
[5.0] Prototyping
Info
Construction of the functional prototype was lead by Wikpol Team, our designers oversaw the transition from digital blueprints to reality. This pivotal phase enabled us to evaluate and refine the robot's details, ensuring the prototype met all standards for functionality and production requirements.
[6.0] Production Version
The deployed AMR project has successfully transitioned from concept to real-life application.
